First of all, I’d like to welcome you to my website. Let me tell you a few things about myself. I started out in the building trades at a very young age. As a boy, my father and grandfather tackled many projects with me at their side. They taught me good work ethics and the importance of quality workmanship. As a junior and senior in high school, I attended a building trades program at Hawkeye Institute of Technology in Waterloo, Iowa. That was in 1974-1975 and I have continued to work in the trades ever since.

As a young man I was very fortunate to work and learn from "old school" contractors. What do I mean by "old school"? Years ago you went to one doctor for whatever ailed you. Today you have doctors that specialize in specific parts of the body, anywhere from a brain doctor to a foot doctor. The same has happened in the building trade. You now have framers, trim carpenters, drywallers, painters, and those who install ceramic tile. Some specialize in decks, basement finishing, concrete, etc. In today’s times you have to hire 25 different people to complete one project and that drags the project on forever. One person is always waiting on the other person to the complete their part of the job. With "You And I Construction", we do all the trades. I deal one on one with the customer. I’m personally on the job every day and I do one project at a time. So many contractors start your job, and then disappear for days at a time. We start your job and we are there everyday until completion. I do not believe in a dissatisfied customer.

About the name of my company: You and I. I have found over the years that people like the satisfaction of being involved in their projects. Your involvement is totally up to you. With tax free shopping in Delaware you can buy your own materials. You tell me your Uncle John does plumbing or you son or daughter is currently unemployed and they want to help, I say, “Lets put them to work!.” I also say, “It’s your project and You are the Boss!”
